About IRC

The Information and Research Center at King Hussein Foundation is a Non
Governmental Non Profitable Organization announced upon the decision of
its Trusteeship Council in December 2000 according to King Hussein
Foundation law No. 22 for the year 1999.
The center enjoys the patronage of King Hussein Foundation Board of
Trustees. Its Executive Committee consists of members from various
sectors in the Jordanian society such as policy makers, businessmen and
consultants. Furthermore, a Research Committee provides technical and
research support represented by university teachers, researchers and
consultants in different academic fields.
The center has partnership in the fields of studies and policy research,
internationally with Chapin Hall Research Center for Children at the
University of Chicago and Dartington Social Research Unit in England,
and regionally with Bayti institution in Morocco and the Primary Health
Care Center at the University of Jerusalem.
IRC Message:
IRC aims at conducting policy research and establishing Information
Systems that aim at supporting the national and regional efforts on development to better serve the Jordanians' needs and rights
including children, youth and elderly.
IRC attempts to contribute in supporting the developmental
efforts in Jordan through achieving the following objectives:
• To identify the problems, obstacles and future challenges which may
keep the process of development behind.
• To develop and enhance the methodologies implemented in the
development research.
• To enhance the role of research in making policies and decisions
related to development.
• To raise the efficiency of using data and information by researchers,
scholars, programs' directors and policy & decision makers.
